First of all, FIRST Project Management Unit would like to express our sincere thanks to all research institutes and enterprises who are members of participating Consortia for the “Research & Innovation Consortium STI Grants” under Sub-component 2b2 of FIRST Project. In accordance with the procedures of the Project Implementation Manual (PIM), we would like to announce the selection results and grant awards for this Grant as follows:

Consortium for “Biotechnological application for sustainable development and trade promotion of SVINA violet banana in Lam Dong” led by Mekong Development Research Institute.

Ineligible proposal due to proposed implementation duration of 52 months (eligible length is maximum 36 months).

Consortium for proposal “To innovate technology, machinery, management for rice chain supply in order to increase productivity, quality, added value of paddy, rice and by-products, based on the application of advanced technologies and agricultural models” led by Key Laboratory of Digital Control and System Engineering.

Ineligible proposal due to:

- Total proposed funding amount is US$ 3.243 (FIRST’s funding must not exceed US$ 3 million as prescribed).

- The consortium membership includes individuals (a consortium must only comprise organizational members that are enterprises/research institutes/universities… as prescribed)

Consortium for “Research, Design and Procedure High Frequency Digital X-ray Machine 80kW on an Industrial Scale” led by Vietnam Korea Medical Corporation.

Consortium for “Developing innovative processes and products based on biotechnology and chemical technology to enhance the value chain of Vietnam cashew industry” led by the University of Danang.

Consortium for “Bio-Medical Engineering Device Innovation Consortium (bioMEDIC)” led by International University - Vietnam National University-HCM.

Consortium for “Building a strong research consortium to promote innovative technology to make safe, high productivity and economical value agricultural products and to manufacture modern equipment for high – tech agriculture in film house” led by Institute of Applied Mechanics and Informatics.

 

Note: (1) These three consortia have the highest evaluated scores and highest ranking and are recommended by TEC for grant awards. They are also approved by World Bank (through NOL) and by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) for negotiations of grant agreement with FIRST Project.

Other consortia are sorted according to the date of application submission from the earliest to the latest.

Together with this announcement, FIRST-CPMU will also send direct notice to each applicant who submitted eligible proposals to inform them of the TEC’s comments on their proposals.
